Course Overview

This course is a compilation of basic knowledge on how to use Ubiquiti’s Propeitary Software Air OS with Airmax Technology. It is designed to let people who are using this product to have an idea on the fundamentals and core features of Air OS.

It will give you a head start on how to use Ubiquiti Radios in your deployment. You will have a feel on the web gui, make configurations and be able to use this to create your wireless links with ease.

Course Outline

You will learn the following:

  • RF Fundamentals and Antennas
  • Learn about Ubiquiti AirOS (Operating System running Airmax Protocol) and Technologies
  • Recognise different Airmax Products, Models and identify them for the right installation.
  • Learn how to create a stable wireless link efficeintly.
  • Learn how to site survey areas, simulate a wireless link and do link analysis. (Link Planning and Management)
  • Creating point to point links and point to multi point links and how to manage them efficiently.
  • Learn how to create various security options in wireless.

Course Schedule

Day 1

Time Activities
8:00am - 9:00am Introduction of Instructor and Students , Break
9:00am -12:00am Presentation, Training, Lab Work and Some Break in between
12:00n - 1:00pm Break for Lunch
1:30pm - 5:00pm Training, Lab Work and Some Break in between.
Refreshments, Coffee and Lunch is provided to all participants free of charge.

Things To Bring

  • Laptop with Wifi or RJ45 Ethernet Port
  • Laptop running Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • Each student will need to bring their own laptop equipped with Ethernet port.
  • Please make sure Java is installed on your pc.

Training Room Requirements

The training class is designed around a Windows XP or newer, we cannot support other OS installations. YOU WILL NEED to bring a Windows based Laptop, power supply, and power strip, 2pcs (1meter) Cat5e Patch Cable. WIFI access will be available for internet access.


Recommended knowledge prior to course:

You need to have knowledge in basic networking, and IP sub-netting.
